Evelyn Goldfinger, a.k.a. Ms. Eve, is an award-winning researcher, theater director, playwright, performer and educator. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Evelyn created Torahtron (El Toratrón), a professional Jewish Educational Theatre ensemble that has engaged over 10,000 spectators, with the support and recognition of organizations such as ROI, Presentense, AMIA and the Embassy of Israel in Argentina.
Ms. Goldfinger holds a YU certification in Experimental Jewish Education and is a graduate from the Presentense global institute accelerator program. Evelyn runs Torahtron, engaging children, adults and educators through Jewish educational theatre shows, workshops and classes. Ms. Goldfinger published The Shabbat Treasure, an adventurous story that helps families find the joy of welcoming the most special day of the week, and that it became #1Bestseller in its category on Amazon.
Evelyn serves as the Cantorial Soloist at Beth Torah synagogue of North Miami, where she leads Friday night prayer as well as Shabbat Bam! Saturday morning experiential family prayer. She also serves as the Cantorial Soloist of Temple Beth Israel for the High Holidays. Evelyn created Fiddler Shabbat, a Friday night service inspired by Fiddler on the Roof, with prayers set to Jerry Bock’s music. Evelyn is the recipient of the prestigious Juan Cervera Award from ASSITEJ Spain given to research in theatre for children and she has been invited to present her work as a researcher in several congresses and forums throughout the world. She served as the Jewish Educational Theatre Director of JCAT at the MAR-JCC. Inspired by her experience with the Folksbiene National Yiddish theatre, she wrote an original play “The Bubbe’s Trunk” to transmit Yiddish language and culture to new generations. Evelyn is the co-founder and emeritus director of a charitable theater company called Late, which performs for underprivileged children in Argentina since 2003.
